On your arrival at Windhoek International Airport you will be met by a representative of SUNBIRD TOURS and transferred to your guesthouse in Windhoek.
The Olive Grove Guesthouse is situated in a quiet and peaceful area of Windhoek, offering elegant en-suite rooms, each with a large verandah. The open-air lounge, spa bath, pool and tranquil garden all invite the visitor to unwind and relax under Namibia’s open skies.
A guided city tour of Windhoek in the afternoon is included.

Day 2:

After breakfast transfer to Eros Airport from where your fly-in safari will start to the Fish River Canyon in the south of the Namibia.
The Fish River Canyon, one of Namibia’s most spectacular geological phenomena, is a massive 161km long and 27km wide, with a varying depth of 550m.
The Grande View Canyon Lodge is situated in the privately owned Canyon Nature Park, offering accommodation in en-suit chalets, all view with an unsurpassed view over the Fish River Canyon.
A sightseeing drive to the canyon in the afternoon is included.

Day 3:

|
Fly out after breakfast with a scenic flight over the canyon into the Namib Desert.
Situated in the private 21 000ha Kulala Wilderness Reserve, the closest reserve to Sossusvlei itself, is Little Kulala, offering magnificent views over the red dunes of Sossusvlei. Little Kulala comprises of eight thatched and canvas chalets on elevated decks, a wrap-around verandah with a small plunge pool. The main area has a relaxed lounge, dining room, bar, curio shop and swimming pool all under thatch. Activities include early morning guided drives to the dunes, nature drives and walks.

Day 4:

|
To experience the fascinating change of colours at sunrise on the dunes, means an early morning rise, for a guided drive into the Sossusvlei.
Afterwards your onward flight to Swakopmund takes you over the dunes and the southern part of the Skeleton Coast, where you will fly over some interesting shipwrecks and remains of old diamond mines. Swakopmund is Namibia’s seaside resorts of singular charm nestling between desert and ocean. It has a restful and relaxing atmosphere with carefully tended public gardens.
The Hansa Hotel offers a relaxed, but personal approach to service. Each of the fifty superbly twin/double rooms and five suites are individually decorated. The restaurant is renowned for seafood and game specialties and also offers a unique wine list.

Day 5:

|
Early morning transfer to Walvis Bay for a boat trip through the lagoon and harbour of Walvis Bay, the Bird Island and moored Russian trawlers. Inquisitive seals and dolphins swim alongside the boat and provide entertainment. To round the trip off you will be spoilt with fresh Walvis Bay oysters, snacks and cold champagne.
The afternoon is your own to explore the many little shops and cafés in Swakopmund.

Day 6:

After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight into the Damaraland and Twyfelfontein (meaning doubtful fountain), a treasure house of rock engravings left by stone-age artists and regarded as one of the richest collections of rock engravings in Africa.
The thatched dome-shaped structures of Mowani Mountain Camp’s main complex are built in the shape of the rough-textured granite boulders, creating the ambience of an African Village. The main complex consists of a bar, spacious dining room and a lounge. Accommodation in 12 luxury East-African-style en-suite safari tents built on raised wooden platforms, each with a canvas veranda and splendid views over the Aba-Huab Valley.
Visit the rock-engravings at Twyfelfontein in the afternoon.

Day 7:

|
After a scenic drive your onward flight will take you over the scenic mountains of the Damaraland into the rough and remote Kaokoveld.
The Serra Cafema Camp is located in the extreme north-west of Namibia and has to be the most remote camp in Southern Africa, deriving its name from the mountains dominating the skyline in the north.
This camp is built within an island of ancient “albida” trees on the banks of the Kunene River, sharing the region with Himba people, who are some of the last true nomadic people in Africa.
The camp’s eight tents are raised off the ground with en-suite bathroom facilities. All rooms are connected with wooden gangways to the main complex, which houses the bar, a lounge and the dining area. A pool is also available for the guests to enjoy.
Scenic drives, boat trips on the river and guided walks are offered.

Day 9:

|
The transfer to the airstrip is a last scenic drive, before you fly out to the Etosha National Park.
The Mushara Lodge is situated on the eastern boarder of the Etosha National Park. The thatched main lodge consists of a small library, a bar with an extensive wine cellar, an airy lounge with a welcoming fireplace for chilly winter evenings, a dining area and a well-stocked curio shop. A large, tiled and bright blue swimming pool is also available.
Ten well-spaced thatched chalets are extremely spacious and furnished with air-conditioning, mosquito net, mini bar fridge and tea and coffee making facilities, electric lights, direct telephone and en-suite bathrooms.
Take your first guided game drive in the park in the afternoon.

Day 10:

|
With its size of 22 270km² it is one of the largest game parks in Africa.
Etosha owes its unique landscape to the Etosha Pan, a vast shallow depression of approximately 5 000km². A series of waterholes along the southern edge of the pan guarantees rewarding and often spectacular game viewing. Several of the 114 mammal species found in the park are rare and/or endangered, including the black rhino and black-faced impala. Over 340 bird species have been recorded at Etosha.
Spend the morning and afternoon on private guided game drives in the park to experience the bounty of wildlife.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before you return to Windhoek/Eros. We will arrange the transfer from the airport to the guesthouse.
